How to edit maladaptive behaviors in client profiles (for analysts)
This guide is designed for analysts who need full control over maladaptive behaviors within a client’s profile. By following this step-by-step walkthrough, users can confidently update behavior details, adjust measurement settings, manage progress tracking, and ensure data integrity across sessions. This guide supports precise clinical documentation, informed decision-making, and consistent progress monitoring within the system.
Section I: Accessing the Behaviors Tab
1. Log In:
Sign in using an account with the appropriate permissions (Analyst or Administrator) and confirm you have access to the client you will be working with.
Navigate to the Client’s Profile:
- Go to the Clients section and select the desired client. You may use the search bar in the top-right corner.
- Once selected, the client’s profile screen will open. Click the client’s name or use the menu icon (☰) to view available options.

2. Access the Skills & Behaviors tab:
- Once you're in the Skills & Behaviors section, choose the tab based on what you're editing: Maladaptive Behaviors

Section II: Edit the Behavior
3. Click on the behavior you want to modify, and you can change its information from the tabs inside the pop up window.

1. Edit the Info
4. In the Info panel, you have the option to change:
- Name of the behavior
- Effective start date
- Folder

Always review the effective start date of the behavior along with its status. These elements are directly connected and determine when the behavior becomes visible for data collection and for reports such as monthlies and assessments/reassessments.
Behaviors can be organized into folders for easier management. See link: How to use the folder system for skills and behaviors for more information.
2. Edit the STO/LTO
5. In the STOs/LTOs tab, you will have various editing options such as:
- Bulk Edit to modify multiple entries at once and Bulk Save to apply all changes in a single action.

6. You also have the option to edit one STO at a time:
- Duplicate: You can duplicate the content of the STO if required.
- Edit name and description: Users have the ability to change the names and descriptions of the STOs to fit their individual requirements. To do this, simply click on the pencil icon next to the STO you wish to edit and click Save to apply the changes.
- Delete: You can delete it.

7. Manually adjust the order of the STOs:
You can also adjust the order of the STOs after they have been created. Click on the STO you want to move, then drag it to the position you want within the list. Release the mouse button to place the STO in its new position.

8. To add more STOs, you can:
- Auto-generate them. Newly generated STOs will be added after the ones you currently have and will not overwrite any existing information.
- Add STOs one by one.

You can find more information regarding adding STOs in the following link: How to create and track STOs
2.1 Edit STO Criteria
The STO Criteria is essential for determining when an STO is considered met or not met. The system automatically generates this criteria based on how each STO is structured.
9. Manual Adjustments:
- You can manually adjust the STO criteria to better reflect the client's needs, just click "Edit Criteria".
- Manually adjust the STO met criteria.
- Click "Update" to save the configuration

3. How to change measures
10. Once the info panel is open, select the Measures tab:

11. Click "Change Measure":
- Select the new Measure:
- Click "SAVE"

Different types of measures available in the system:
- Frequency: Counts how many times a behavior occurs.
- Percentage: Shows how often a behavior occurs out of total opportunities.
- Intervals: Records whether a behavior occurred during set time intervals.
- Intensity: Measures how strong or severe a behavior is.
- Time (seconds): Records behavior duration in seconds.
- Time (minutes): Records behavior duration in minutes.
- Time (sum – minutes): Tracks the total combined duration of a behavior during a session.
- Rate (hours): Measures how often a behavior occurs per hour.
When changing the type of measure, keep in mind that two graphs will be displayed: one reflecting the previous measure and another showing the newly selected measure.

12. Note that the effective start date can also be modified.
Changes to the effective start date determine how and when the new data collection begins.

If the new effective start date falls within a period where data was previously recorded using a different measure, a pop-up window will appear informing you that data from those sessions recorded with the previous measure will be deleted and replaced by the new one. If the previous and new measures are not compatible, the existing data will be lost.

13. You can review previous measures.

If you delete the previous measurement, the new measurement will use the same effective date as the measurement that was removed. The data will transfer only if the new and old measurements are compatible; otherwise, the data will be lost.
3.1. Additional Features in Measures: Baseline and Initial Observations
14. You can add initial observations. These are observations conducted before the baseline process, mostly by the analyst of the case.

15. Baselines can be added for the selected measure.

4. How to change Status
16. Once the info panel is open select the Status tab:
- Click on the "Change Status" button.
- Select the new Status and click on "Save".

The different types of status the system have:
- In Observation: Newly observed behaviors; data collection is allowed.
- Pending: Behaviors not currently being addressed; no data collection required.
- Ongoing: Active behaviors that require regular data collection.
- Mastered: Successfully completed behaviors; no data collection and not shown in session notes.
- Discontinued: Behaviors no longer targeted; no data collection and not shown in session notes.
17. Note that the effective start date can also be modified.
👉Changes to the effective start date directly impact when this behavior will appear in session notes. Depending on the date selected, it will only be visible in sessions occurring on or after that effective start date.

5. How to change Functions
18. Once the info panel is open select the Functions tab and click on the "Change Functions" button.
- Select the new Function(s) and click on "Save".

20. You have access to previous Functions, and they can be deleted.

6. How to Edit Topography or Barriers
21. Once the Info panel is open, select the Topographies tab or Barriers

22. Click the “Change” button. Enter the updated Topography or Barrier information and click “Save” to apply the changes.

23. Note that the effective start date can also be modified.

24. You have access to previous Topographies or Barriers, and they can be deleted.

For Topography or Barrier fields, the system uses a rich text editor, allowing you to apply formatting such as bullet points, bold text, and spacing as needed.
7. How to change Intensity and Intensity Key
25. On the Intensity panel:
Click the "Change Intensity" button. Click "Select New Intensity" drop down arrow and select the value, and click "SAVE"
